The best laid plans

There I lay with a cat curled around my head, a pen under my pillow, and a Harry Potter calendar slowly un-peeling itself from the wall next to me.

Reasons to be cheerful

And so the towel rail hovers. A slight cough from someone at the other side of the house sees it begin a sorry slide down at one end, and then a pole falls out.

New Year, new aches

I back-pedaled, let things slide a little, flailed around in the DIY doldrums for a while there. And now I feel I’m getting back on track.
